Congratulations to teen star Demi Lovato; she won a people’s choice award for Favorite Pop Artist. According to reports, Demi was in competition with other great female singers such as Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Katy Perry and she emerged the winner.
In her acceptance speech Demi was grateful for the award and even acknowledged her fellow nominees who she said she looks up to and dedicate her award. Demi was also a performer on the show singing her latest hit “Give Your Heart a Break.”
Jennifer Lopez is reportedly paying her younger lover Casper Smart an allowance of $10,000 to be with her. According to reports, Jennifer had grown tired of spending money every time they would go out; we heard that she was also giving him money to buy her presents as well. In the end, Jennifer decided to give Casper the weekly pay so that he can not only spend the money on her but he can also use it for other things; perhaps to try to keep up with her lifestyle.
A source close to Jennifer has said “Jen is hoping Casper won’t think twice about buying presents for her kids of whisking her off for a surprise weekend getaway.” The source added that Jennifer “can take care of herself just fine, but she’s old-fashioned when it comes to wanting the man to take charge.”
Pop singer Sinead O’Connor was reportedly trying to commit suicide when she overdosed on pills. According to reports the singer took lots of pills a few days before she took to her Twitter to ask for psychiatric help.
The singer who is known for experience mental problems took to her Twitter to address her fans, telling them that she may be heading for a meltdown. It is reported that Sinead asked her followers to seek out professionals in her area who can help with her problems. She also told them she needed therapy in order to get back on her medication.
Later on Sinead told the press that her quick breakup with husband Barry Herridge and then reconciliation really took a toll on her. She reportedly said “I took an overdose. God obviously wants me around – though I can’t think why.”
By the time Sinead had gotten back to her Twitter her loyal friends had sent her along numerous contacts for health professionals. Sinead thanked them for their help.
Singer Katy Perry is reportedly signed up to design her own line of fake eyelashes. According to reports, Katy has partnered with Eyelure to help create her collection of eyelashes which is being described as funky and eyelashes that will offer different options.
What inspired Katy to want to produce this product? Reports indicate that Katy is in fact a “false lash lover herself” and she made it ”very clear idea of what she wanted to achieve and was involved in every step of the design process.”
The company broke their silence on the product via a tweet which read “BIG NEWS! @katyperry has designed an exclusive new lash range with @EylureUSA!!!! Lashes will be available in Feb. 2012 at @ULTA_Beauty.”
Reports indicate that actress Halle Berry is in fact engaged to be married to fellow actor Olivier Martinez. A few weeks ago Halle was seen wearing an emerald ring and it lead to speculation that perhaps she got engaged to boyfriend Olivier.
This would be Halle’s third marriage her first two being the wife to baseball player David Justice and then singer Eric Benet. Halle has a daughter Nahla from a previous relationship with model boyfriend Gabriel Aubry.
Singer K.D. Lang and her girlfriend of many years Jamie Price have ended their relationship. According to reports K.D filed legal papers to dissolve her domestic partnership with Jamie.
The partnership gave each other the right to make health decisions for one another as well as each to own the other’s property. The two met back in 2003 via a Buddhist teacher.
“American Idol” alum Scotty Mccreery has announced that he is taking a break from music to go back to school. The teen singer who was victorious in last season’s talent show reportedly plan to return to school later this year.
According to reports, Scotty was trying to balance his studies at high school with his music career, however it proved to be quite a challenge for him.
About swamping out school teachers for professors Scotty said “That’s going to be a whole another monster. But we’re going to figure out a way to do it. It might take me 50 years to get a degree, but I want to get there and go to college.”
In other news about Scotty, it has been announced that his debut CD “Clear as Day” has gone platinum after being released for only three months. It is reported that Scotty’s CD sold over a million copies.
As about how he felt about going platinum Scotty said “Never in a million years did I dream that the album would go platinum in three months, never in a million years did I dream that the album would go platinum. It’s wild! It’s going to take me a few months or years to really wrap my head around it.”
Don’t expect to hear Justin Bieber singing about partying and drinking in any of his upcoming CDs. According to reports, the young singer made a vow that he would not sing about these subjects even after he has turned 18. The “Baby, Baby” singer said he would be churning out songs with “clean lyrics” just as his idol Michael Jackson did.
Justin also promised that he would not be swearing in his songs either but rather making songs about “making love”.
The teen sensation told reporters “I’m not going to try to conform to what people want me to be or go out there and start partying, have people see me with alcohol… I’m never going to make myself so the kids and the parents don’t respect me… I want to be able to do what Michael did – he always sang clean lyrics – and it was always that little kids loved Michael and grandparents loved Michael.”
Justin also added that he’s ”into love, and maybe I’ll get more into making love when I’m older. But I want to be someone who is respected by everybody.”
On the heels of her husband Russell Brand filing for divorce, singer Katy Perry has cancelled her scheduled appearance at the People’s Choice Awards. according to reports, Katy was to appear on the awards show which takes place tomorrow at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. However Katy took to her Twitter to say “unfortunately I will not be able to attend the People’s Choice Awards. I want to thank u all for voting for me, fingers crossed!”
Katy is reportedly up for several awards including Favorite Song of the Year, Favorite Tour Headliners, Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Pop Artist.
Actress Lindsay Lohan has reportedly landed a modeling job. Reports indicate that Lindsay has signed on to be the new face of Friction, a French Connection UK scent.
This seems to be a new niche for Lindsay as just last month she was named the spokesmodel for JAG Jeans. The fashion giant has already released teaser ads, a few of which features Lindsay in seductive pictures.
