Chrissy Amphlett, ex Divinyls singer dies at the age of 53. Well, she was suffering from multiple sclerosis and breast cancer. She was the ex singer of the Australian band, The Divinyls. She gained success after singing “I Touch Myself”, the most hit song during 1990s. She died at her home in NY City on 21st April.
Since many days she was bravely fighting with breast cancer & multiple sclerosis, says Charley Drayton, her musician husband to the media. He also added, “Her light burns very vibrantly. She lived her life with creativity and passion. With her strength of vocal strength and character, she lined herself as sexy, strong and outspoken women.”
She was iconic singer of Australia music and became famous for her for her unique singing voice and jumpy gig performances dressed in school uniforms and fishnet stockings. However she was born in Geelong city, Victoria State on October 25, 1959. She is the cousin of pop star Patricia Amphlett, who is also known as Little Pattie.
Moreover in 1980, Amphlett came across the musician Mark McEntree in Sydney Opera house at a concert and the pair established the band Divinyls. Between 1982 and 1996, the band released 6 albums and the single song “I Touch Myself”, hit number one in Australia, four in US and Number ten in Britain.
Moreover last month, Amphlett was added among top 10 singers of all time. In 2005, she published her autobiography Pleasure and Pain: My life. In this autobiography, she has illustrated the deeds of drug and alcohol exploitation and love affairs.
