Brendan Fraser is impatient for a movie shoot to begin, but sees no hope of it beginning anytime soon. As a result, he sued the movie director for more than $2million. The actor has been part of greatest hits like the mummy Series.
The movie in question is William Tell, which is to be shot in 3D.
Fraser says that he was fully committed to the October 2011 schedule of the movie as promised by the directors. He feels the producers have caused a loss of his time and money, and in addition to the pay of $2 million pay, he was slated to receive there are further damages he seeks.
He filed the lawsuit against the producers in LA County Superior court. The lawsuit claims that the producers of the movie The Legend of William Tell: 3D hired him in early 2011. They had promised that the shooting would start by that year itself.
The shooting has not started till date and Fraser fears that the directors may be having a cash crunch and are not able to start shooting. He rejected several other attractive offers and kept his schedule free only to act in that film, which never begun.
Fraser was informed that he would be receiving $2 million irrespective of the fact that shooting takes place or not.
The producer Todd Moyer says, “We have already contacted Mr. Fraser’s representatives and informed them we’ll be starting the shoot on 3rd September. But Mr. Frasers want the movie to be shot in 3D only, and we do not think he has contractually any right to make that call.”
